Mercy House
The mission of Mercy House is to provide food, clothing, and shelter to households with dependent children who are experiencing homelessness in the Harrisonburg, Virginia, area in a safe community, while providing services that overcome the barriers leading to homelessness.
Mercy House, in partnership with GiveSolar, installed a 14.58kW solar system on our main shelter building in September of 2023. Over 25 years, this system will save Mercy House over $60,000. In addition to solar energy reducing the carbon footprint of our operations, the savings from this project will lower our overhead cost and enhance our ability to achieve our core mission of ensuring every child in our community has a place to call home.
